Jacob's 3rd birthday

I can't believe Jacob is 3 years old! He had a choo choo train birthday party.

He was so excited all day while I made the choo choo train cake. He could hardly wait to eat the engine. Jacob likes to say, "Chugga-Chugga Choo Choo Woo Woo!"

The day before Easter break, Camilla was in a school play. She played the part of Tullulah the turtle. She did very well in speaking her parts loudly and clearly. There was also alot of songs in the play that Camilla loved practicing at home.

During Easter break, we built and decorated a bunny hutch, painted bunny nails, flew kites, dyed eggs, and had a fun Easter egg hunt.

Easter Pictures, April Fools Day, and General Conference

Last Easter, Camilla and Jacob were in tears when we tried to take their pictures. They were very grumpy. This year was the complete opposite. I already had Jacob's Easter outfit when Camilla's Easter dress came in the mail. As soon as she opened the package, she wanted to try on her new dress. As soon as Jacob saw this, he wanted to try on his Easter suit, as well. So, of course, I had to get the camera out to take pictures because they were in a much better mood this year!

Jacob and I made cupcakes for April Fool's Day. After Jacob went down for his nap, I decorated the cupcakes to look like peas and carrots. This idea is from the book Hello, Cupcake. Right before dinner, I asked Camilla to get the vegetables out of the microwave. When she opened the microwave, she was very surprised!

We enjoyed watching April General Conference together as a family. During General Conference, Camilla made the First Presidency figures out of toilet paper tubes and the podium out of a band aid box.

Each time a general authority got up to speak, Camilla would "walk" a member of the First Presidency up to her podium. She would switch them each time a different person spoke. There was also a choir picture that she colored that she would prop up on the computer monitor each time the choir would sing.

Tulips

Last October, Camilla, Jacob, and I planted some tulip bulbs. I have never planted them before so I was anxious to see if they would really bloom. Camilla helped dig holes and put the bulbs in. Jacob had alot of fun throwing in the bulbs after we dug the holes. Here is the progress of our tulips.

Once we saw the first sprout, we would check the progress of our tulips everyday after we got home picking up Camilla after school.

Finally, they bloomed. I was hoping they would stay like this until Easter. There were a few casualties from squirrels swiping the flowers off, but they did last until Easter. Actually, the day after Easter it rained and all the tulip flowers fell off. I am grateful, though, that they did last until Easter!

Jacob

Jacob loves to help Daddy make dessert for Sundays. Jacob is ready to bake a cake with Daddy's apron on.

Jacob is in a little preschool group with some children from church. Today, it is at our house and we talked about caterpillars. Jacob made a caterpillar out of grapes and carrots. He has so much fun playing with his friends.

Camilla

Camilla is at her Valentine's Day party at school. She had so much fun passing out her Valentines and decorating cookies.

Camilla is showing off her missing tooth. This day she was able to wear her "moose" pj's to school for pajama day.

In March, Camilla lost her 2 front teeth. She looks so cute without her teeth!

California Vacation

We went on an impromptu visit to California at the end of January to the beginning of February. We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Wynder and the Schank family.

We got to go to a lot of fun places. We went to Disneyland, the zoo, the beach, a children's museum, and some fun parks. Camilla and Jacob had so much fun with the Schank cousins! We also got to stay for 3 extra days because our flights kept getting canceled due to a major Midwest storm.
